Privacy and sharing

Team sharing

Locate and ordinary Teams do not require a PatrolGrid account. When you enable sharing, the service processes your chosen member name, location, capture time, accuracy and available movement information to show it to your invited team. Observers publish no GPS. Browser units require your consent and browser permission; sharing stops while the tab is hidden, offline or sharing is paused. A last-known position may remain visible with its original time. Browser access is Free; shared pins are viewable but cannot be created there.

Trips and Clubs

Private saved routes stay on your device unless you choose to share them. Shared routes, stops and schedules are processed by our service so invited people can use them. Clubs uses an optional Sign in with Apple account. The service stores the account identifier, profile and club names you choose, memberships, roles, invitations, messages, shared routes and scheduled-session participation. Apple handles Apple sign-in and notification delivery. You can use Pro features without creating a Clubs account.

Storage and deletion

Our services are hosted on a UK IONOS VPS. Team sessions last at most twelve hours. Leave a team or turn sharing off to stop further location sharing. Shared pins and team state are temporary; saved routes and club content have separate lifetimes and can be managed in the app. Recent-trail sharing is optional and bounded. Imported map layers stay on the importing device. Recovery backups may retain earlier state after it is removed from the active service. Contact support about account, privacy or deletion requests.

Security and support access

Connections use HTTPS/TLS. Team content is not end-to-end encrypted, so the service can process it. Invitations are private access credentials; share them only with people you trust. Protected administrator support access is read-only, limited to one team and time bounded. Support audit records exclude coordinates, invitations and session tokens.

Maps and browser storage

The iPhone uses Apple Maps and platform location/address services. Road drawing can use our Great Britain routing data. The browser loads Leaflet assets and OpenStreetMap map tiles from their providers; providers can receive connection details and the requested map area. The browser keeps a private tab credential, pending join and current membership in session storage for reconnection. Do not use a shared browser for a private team; leave the team when finished.

Stay in control

GPS, addresses, maps and connections can be inaccurate or delayed. A last-known position is not a current GPS fix. Stop somewhere safe before using controls. PatrolGrid is not an emergency service.

Support

Email admin@patrolgrid.net with the build number, device and steps to reproduce a problem. Do not include invitations, session tokens, passwords or other people’s personal details.
